We've just hired our first Development Assistant! Meet Ike Denloye, former Administrative and Digital Assistant at Tiata Fahoodzi!
Tell us a bit about your job at the King’s Head Theatre?
I am the King's Head Theatre's Development Assistant, so I look for new opportunities and people to support us and get involved here at the King's Head Theatre and look after those who already do.
What’s the best piece of theatre you’ve ever seen?
I'm going to go with the most recent piece I saw because I can't stop thinking about it, which was The Convert at the Young Vic. It's the first piece I've seen that was largely in a different language, but I understood. It was intense, hilarious and emotional while showcasing a story and characters that I'd never seen before.
In an alternate universe, what would your ideal job be?
I would be a professional dancer probably in Latin or Ballroom, I love the music and the costumes and the chance to make it to Strictly.
The King’s Head Theatre has a stupendous ice cream selection… what’s your favourite flavour?
Why does theatre matter?
Theatre is one of the only art forms that allows you to be fully immersed and focuses on the moment. A place where performances only happen once. Yes, shows are repeated, but they're all different. This is why it's the perfect place to explore innovative and provocative ideas and really have them be heard - it's transformative.
